Your
Gateway to the "Tri-Lakes Region"
presented
to you by the Rockaway Beach
Chamber of Commerce
|

|
Rockaway Beach, Missouri, the first "Family
Resort Community" west of the Mississippi River, was founded in 1917.
Our small friendly lakeside town is located in the northern portion of
the Ozark Mountains around 10 miles NE of Branson. Some folk have
called us the "Gateway to the Tri-Lakes Region" consisting of Tablerock,
Taneycomo and Bull Scholls Lakes. With a one and a half mile shoreline
stretching along the southern shore of Lake Taneycomo, fishing folk
appreciate its rating as one of the top Rainbow and German Brown Trout
fishing Lakes in America.
Many vacationers past and present have visited us to enjoy the beauty
and tranquility of our town along with its great fishing and boating
opportunities. For a slightly faster pace you can take in a Show, shop
or spend a day at Silver Dollar City with the kids around the Branson
area. Legend has it that years ago Al Capone vacationed in Rockaway
Beach during his heyday. You can see his alleged hideaway across the
Lake from downtown Rockaway.

Rockaway is peppered
with
Restaurants,
Marinas,
Shops, and
Lodging
Facilities giving you a true taste of the Ozarks without bustin your
wallet. Most exciting is our quaint sandy
lakefront beach
allowing for some "Hillbilly Fun in the Sun". Next to the Beach is a
newly renovated causeway, fishing island and pier with free access.
Fishing license and trout tags are required so check out the
Missouri Department of Conservation
site for more information.
Throughout the year the folks of Rockaway Beach
host many
family events
with down home country hospitality. Larger events include the Fourth of
July Celebration, Hydroplane Races and the Rods and Relics Classic Car
Show. Check the Special Events page for all our upcoming events this
year.
Rockaway Beach has 44 acres of park land for
your use too. This could be ideal for larger Family Reunions, Festivals
or even Motor club Rallies. Call or e-mail the Rockaway Beach Chamber
of Commerce for additional information on hosting a larger event in
Rockaway Beach.
The friendly folk of
Rockaway Beach and the Chamber of Commerce Businesses invite you for a
relaxing family stay in our town while vacationing in the Tri-Lakes
Region.
